Each of us chose Nooitgedacht Village as our home for different reasons. Maybe it was community living in a secure environment.

Or it could have been the vineyards and mountains and being out of town. Mostly, we made Nooitgedacht Village our home because it felt like home.

Guiding principles to keep it feeling like home

  1. Be considerate
  2. Safety first
  3. Keep it neat and cared for
  4. Be informed and alert
  5. Let’s connect and build a community

Living in a community like ours can have many advantages, especially when we reach out to our neighbours.

Community support in a safe and secure environment gives us a sense of belonging, but each of us has to contribute by being considerate and keeping an eye on safety issues.

Our first impression of Nooitgedacht Village probably played a big role in “hearing” that little voice that said:

“This is where you belong.”

But having (and keeping) a great first impression is a joint effort.

Taking care of our village is a little bit like dental hygiene. Do it regularly and no one really notices. But start skipping it and all sorts of rotten things may happen. People will notice that something’s off and that great first impression will be forgotten.

Let’s keep our home feeling like home by doing our bit every day.

We love get-togethers with friends and family, but we should take care that our fun doesn’t spoil that of our neighbours.

Having pets is a great way of improving our quality of life, reducing loneliness and bringing pure joy into our lives.

But we should make sure that our furry friends do not bother other residents.

We’re building a community in Nooitgedacht Village, and it takes time to get to know people. We encourage residents to connect with one another in and around the Village, and also virtually via Facebook and our various WhatsApp groups.

Let’s make this our community – our happy place.
